Star Wars Miniatures The Clone Wars Wins 35th Annual Origins Award

Clonewarspkg
Th 35th Annual Origins Awards were chosen by retailers that attended the recent GAMA Trade Show in Las Vegas. The five finalists within each category were chosen by retailers from a list drawn from publisher/creator submissions with a jury review. Attendees at Origins Game Fair and the Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts and Design selected the winners, which was announced at the ceremony at Origins on Saturday, June 27th.

Miniature Award
These were the five nominees for the category Miniature Figure or Line of Miniature Figures. The art director Paul Hebron, has an impeccable eye for design. He notified me this week, that his baby, The Clone Wars line (which I had the privilege of illustrating) had won the award for this category. Yay!

O.k. back to it for me. I'm currently painting away on another set of three images for the Star Wars Miniatures line.

Terese Nielsen Will be signing at the 2009 Magic the Gathering World Championships in Rome

Rome

The 2009 Magic: The Gathering World Championships is the culmination of the Magic year. Players from more than 50 countries will come together in Rome, Italy for the pinnacle of international Magic competition. National Champions, Pro Tour winners, the highest-ranked DCI players, and more will square off to earn the coveted title of "World Champion." To find out more information about the the event click here.

It'll be exciting! I've yet to experience Italy, so I'm thrilled about the opportunity to do a signing in Rome! Many of my biggest fans, and collectors of altered cards are from Italy, so I hope to meet many of you and sign thousands of cards during the event. You can check here for a somewhat up-to-date list of cards that I've illustrated through the years.

I plan on bringing with me a small supply of some of my custom altered cards. Stay tuned for more details on that. They might even be collaborations with my brother Ron Spencer because we're having such a blast creating these together.

Okay, get your plane tickets and meet me there!!

Mtg Artists Ron Spencer and Terese Nielsen Team Up on Altered Cards

Ron Spencer Terese Nielsen MtG Alterations

One of the most frequent things I get asked when doing a Magic the Gathering signing is, "Are you and Ron Spencer brother and sister?" I smile and nod. My confirmation is always followed by either, "Wow, that is SO cool!" or "He's my ALL time favorite Magic artist!!", which is just fine by me -- as long as it stays in the family, right?   : )

Yawgmoths Angel Ron and TereseSo I was just back home in Nebraska visiting my family this month. Ron and I decided it was time to have some fun working on a project together. He pulled out a Yawgmoth's Will along with some paper, and the ideas on how we could collaborate on a card started to fester. We took a few photos of how it came together if you'd like to witness the process

Also Ron has a brand new blog so PLEASE go pay him a visit and tell him what you think, and what you'd like to see!

Check it out! Our first ever altered MtG collaboration is on eBay.
